Storyline
Announcement
New Skirmish event!!! [1]
Prologue
- Miranda O'Brien: "Hello, Captain. Thank you for responding to my hails. We were hoping you could assist us with a project underway at certain Starfleet shipyards. We are attempting to breathe new life into old and damaged ships - and take parts from those that can't be saved."
- Lt. Commander Michael Eddington: "The results have been interesting. Technology like yours that would otherwise be inaccessible to us if it weren't for the anomalies, combined with present Starfleet technology, may make for something better than the original."
- Maquis Ro Laren: "What luxury you in Starfleet live in. Able to rip parts from ships with reckless abandon and cast the remaining husk aside. Meanwhile my people have to scrape for every scrap we can get. What about the ships you gut that belong to other places and times?"
- Miranda O'Brien: "Those are good points. But the ships have already been repurposed and someone still needs to test them. What do you think, Captain? Are you up to it?"
Intermission
- Lt. Commander Michael Eddington: "Well, I wasn't expecting testing the ships to involve sending them into intense combat. You sure put them through the ringer, Captain, but I suppose that's what Starfleet wanted, so well done."
- Miranda O'Brien: "Unfortunately it wasn't a complete success. Some ships experienced malfunctions, but when we investigated, we found signs of tampering. Who would want to do that though?"
- Choice A
- Captain: "What are you thinking?"
- Miranda O'Brien: "Beyond the presence of a saboteur, we don't really have much in the way of leads. The groups that contributed their ships did so willingly. So I'm not sure who would be so opposed."
- Choice B
- Captain: "What happens to these ships when the anomaly crisis is over?"
- Miranda O'Brien: "I suppose we'll have to cross that bridge when we reach it. It's honestly not something I'm in any rush to think about, considering what awaits me. But we will have to determine the fates of these ships, some made of parts from other times or universes."
- Choice C
- Captain: "ls ramming the ships together really the best way to test them?"
- Maquis Bo Laren: "This is my question as well. It seems like a waste of resources, especially those you painstakingly restored."
- Lt. Commander Michael Eddington: "It looks like, in spite of the saboteur, the engineers want to continue this test. Even knowing the risks, are you still willing to help us, Captain? Maybe you can figure out who our saboteur is."
Epilogue
- Lt. Commander Michael Eddington: "I can see why Starfleet tapped you for this mission, Captain. You were able to quickly suss out the Maquis plot. Still, I can't say I don't sympathize with their desperate need for resources. And there was truth in what that woman said."
